Freakin Hot!!

Seriously it is 11:30 at night, my windows are open and the fan is on and it is still over 100 in here! Took Caleb to McD's for a late dinner and so he could run off some of his pent up energy, I sat in front of one of the tubular slides of the playground and could feel the heat radiating out of the tube. Its only June how will we survive August which is the hottest month?

Today is 7 years since Macon's death, hard to believe that time has moved that quickly. It was a good day and I didn't even register that today was the anniversary until late in the day. I rejoice that I can still cherish the person and all my memories without dreading or re-enacting a horrible day. God is good!

Well that's all for now!

Caleb, Bonnie and I went to Ein Suhkna for the night. It is the nearest beach to Cairo and has a great 5 star hotel and awesome pool that we have enjoyed for many years. We went to have some quality "Bonnie" time before she leaves for the US for 3 months as well as to work on swim lessons. We made some small progress on swimming, although it is a battle of the wills. He can swim just fine he just refuses to go out in water that he can't stand in.
Back to work tomorrow. I preach again this next weekend as yet still awaiting inspiration on the topic. Finished reading a great book called "The Year of Living Biblically" written by a non Christian but with some great insight and lots of humor.

Pulling a late nighter

"God's Glory is the Story"that's tomorrows sermon title, well actually today's sermon title. 3 am and I am not quite done but my back can't sit any longer. I have drank 3 diet Pepsi and a coffee so I suspect my mind will keep working through the night. I love the process I just wish I could pull it together earlier and easier. A few cute summer pixs. Caleb's Preschool Graduation

Ahhh it was an emotional day, Caleb's first educational milestone; preschool graduation! We turned out en mass to cheer him on. He was a bit overwhelmed with all the hoopla and I think unsure what it all meant but bottom line he is happy to be done with school. Today is his first day off but we have are regular Thursday breakfast with a friend so sleeping will have to wait.
