Sorry for the absence, I always think I need photos in order to make a blog post but camera not working at the moment (Caleb dropped it in the sand) so I am taking photos on my phone but don't know how to get them transferred to computer. I will soon post his VERY cute KG year photo the first of many school photo's to come.
So Christmas break ended after 4 very long weeks...actually all 4 of them were not that long just the 2 after Christmas. Caleb's school expanded to across the street and so the did a staggering start and kg was the last to return to class. He quite the social butterfly and suffers when he does not have sufficient social interaction. I tried to plan something special every other day to insure that he got out of the house, but man that is work arranging play dates! He was actually happy to get back to school although that joy has worn off already.
I jumped back into my full schedule, teaching my Women's Bible Study on Ephesians which I love, and teaching HS youth group and other various and sundry things. Feb 4 I am preaching at church a sermon entitled "Fight at the Church Picnic" from Gal. 2, I always get these interesting topics, the last time I preached it was from Ecc and it was on the certainty of death. Fighting and dying such chipper topics!
Life here in Egypt these days could appear very interesting if one judges from CNN or BBC. Personally I don't have a television so the best I can do is watch you tube clips of the various protests that are happening downtown. They seem quite significant but 20 minutes away in the suburb of Maadi where I live you would never know anything is amiss. Of course Maadi is filled with either the wealthiest of Egyptians or foreigners, we are definitely not the suffering class! In light of my studies in Eph though I am accutely aware of the powers that are at work and am trying to be more focused and diligent in my prayers. It is so tempting to pray for peace and stability, especially in my circumstances, but who knows the things that God wants to do and the war that is being waged. PRAY for EGYPT! This is a land of great paradox and pivotal in God's unfolding story. Do remember when you watch the news that it is being filmed in a small area and shot at particular angles to give the picture more voice and power.
God is on the Throne!
